Educational Requirements for the Quality Technician Role:
- Associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school (required)
- Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Food Science
- Or 3 years of related quality, food safety, or manufacturing experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
Key Responsibilities of the Quality Technician:
- In the Biology Jobs, you have to ensure all products meet Milo’s quality and food safety standards
- Collect samples for bacteria plating and routine quality testing
- Monitor and enforce GMP, SQF, and food safety compliance
- Maintain and calibrate laboratory and testing equipment
- Perform environmental testing of air, water, and bacteria
- Conduct routine testing, including Brix, color, weight, volume, coding, and packaging integrity in this Quality Technician Role.
- Assist with raw material receiving, sampling, and evaluation
- Monitor FIFO processes and report issues to the QA Manager
- Prepare and ship samples as required
- Support corporate responsibility initiatives, including recycling and volunteering
- Work overtime, weekends, and extended hours as needed
Skills Required for the Quality Technician Role:
- Knowledge of food quality and food safety systems
- Experience with laboratory testing and sample analysis
- Familiarity with GMP, SQF, and sanitation standards
- Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to work independently on night and weekend shifts
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
