Internship Description Summary

The GE HealthCare Global Pharmacovigilance Organization, part of Pharmaceutical Diagnostics, ensures patient safety by maintaining a robust Pharmacovigilance System. Pharmacovigilance and Drug Safety activities are critical activities in a pharmaceutical company.

In this role, the PV Intern supports a wide range of moderate to sometimes multifaceted scope and complex pharmacovigilance activities, working within established timeframes and ensuring compliance with global and local procedures, policies, processes, and guidelines.

Internship Description

The PV Intern is provided with opportunities to contribute globally and cross-functionally within the GPV organization. The role offers a unique opportunity to understand the advantages and complexities of a global pharmacovigilance organization.

Daily activities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Daily pharmacovigilance case processing activities
  • Safety reconciliation efforts, including documentation and monitoring of safety information exchange with GE HealthCare partners
  • Support for project management activities, including audit and inspection exposure
  • Support for safety database initiatives

This role provides exposure to the field of drug safety.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Candidates may be currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in biology, or life science
  • Candidates must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with strong organizational, interpersonal, problem-solving, and negotiation skills
  • Candidates must have strong data analytics and technical skills, as well as document management capabilities
  • Candidates must demonstrate high integrity, a sense of urgency, and the ability to recognize time sensitivity
  • Candidates must be self-starters, fast learners, able to take initiative, multitask, and work in a fast-paced team environment, including a remote office setting
  • Candidates must have a strong sense of responsibility, the ability to work autonomously and in a team, and openness to change (positive or negative) in response to new information, unexpected circumstances, or ambiguous situations
