Role Summary

The scientist will join an in vivo pharmacology and pharmacokinetics laboratory, designing and executing rodent studies focused on antibody pharmacokinetics, brain penetration, and target engagement. This role requires expertise in dosing techniques, rodent surgeries, and high-quality study execution. Collaboration across discovery biology, biomarker, and translational teams is essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, lead, and execute in vivo studies from planning to data delivery.
  • Perform core dosing routes: IV, IP, SC, and intracerebroventricular.
  • Conduct rodent surgical procedures (CSF collection, ICV injections, tissue harvest).
  • Execute workflows including antibody administration, PK sampling, and brain dissections.
  • Run supporting biochemical assays (ELISA, Western blot, protein quantification).
  • Maintain accurate electronic lab notebook documentation and sample inventories.
  • Present data and study updates to project teams and leadership.
  • Ensure compliance with IACUC protocols and uphold animal welfare and lab safety standards.

Basic Qualifications for Biology Job

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Biology, Neuroscience, or related field.
  • 2+ years post-degree academic or industry experience involving in vivo studies.
  • Authorization to work in the U.S. (no sponsorship available).

Preferred Skills/Experience

  • Strong hands-on experience with rodent handling, dosing, and tissue collection.
  • Experience with CSF collection, ICV injections, or stereotaxic surgeries.
  • Familiarity with pharmacokinetic/biodistribution studies.
  • Knowledge of neurodegeneration models (e.g., APP/PS1).
  • Biochemical assay experience (ELISA, Western blot, PK assays).
  • Background in drug discovery or preclinical development.
  • Excellent documentation, communication, and teamwork skills.
