The Research Assistant Opportunity

The Airway Epithelial / PhageWA Team is dedicated to addressing antimicrobial resistance (AMR) through phage therapy. The team:
- Collects bacteriophages targeting specific bacteria
- Ensures phages are safe for clinical use
- Supports and conducts clinical trials in phage therapy
- Works to translate research into real-world treatments
PhageWA operates within the Wal-yan Respiratory Research Centre, a collaboration between:
- The Kids Research Institute Australia
- Perth Children’s Hospital
- Perth Children’s Hospital Foundation
This is an exciting opportunity to join a multidisciplinary team working at the forefront of innovative child health research.
Key Responsibilities
- Conducting laboratory-based experiments
- Compiling research data and performing data analysis
- Contributing to:
- Manuscript preparation
- Ethics applications
- Annual reports
- Conducting literature searches and reviews
- Supporting the translation of research findings for non-scientific audiences
About You
You will have an undergraduate degree in one of the following or a related discipline:
- Biomedical Sciences
