Educational Requirements for the Research Coordinator role:
- Bachelor’s degree in life sciences or equivalent
- Experience with clinical research is preferred
- Technical proficiency and the ability to work both independently and in a team
Key Responsibilities for the Research Coordinator role:
- Submit and manage IRB protocols, including amendments and continuing reviews
- Coordinate study activities with Dr. Otero, PIs, and team members across clinical, legal, finance, compliance, and laboratory functions
- Manage patient-facing aspects, including screening, enrollment, consent, and follow-up visits
- Oversee the informed consent process and maintain regulatory compliance
- Collect and manage clinical data, ensuring patient privacy
- Access and utilize EMR systems (EPIC) and databases (REDCap) securely
- Train and provide guidance to study team members
- Conduct literature searches and data analyses in collaboration with Biostatistics and Bioinformatics
- Contribute to reports, presentations, manuscripts, and departmental meetings
