Educational Requirements for this Job:
- BS degree in Biochemistry, or related scientific discipline, with 1–2 years of experience
- MS degree with 0–1 year of experience
Key Responsibilities:
- Support pilot-scale operations up to 500L bioreactor scale in this Scientist Job at Alexion Pharmaceuticals
- Assist with mammalian cell culture and downstream purification processes
- Provide facility and operational support, including Equipment maintenance, Cleaning equipment and parts, Solution preparation, and Set-up and clean-up activities
- Provide hands-on support during upstream and downstream manufacturing runs in this Scientist Job in the USA
- Document results in electronic notebooks and/or paper forms
- Follow laboratory and manufacturing operating and safety procedures
- As an Associate Scientist, you should support scale-up activities for non-GMP pilot-scale manufacturing
Skills Required:
- Experience in biologics manufacturing or research
- Hands-on experience with mammalian cell culture and/or protein purification
- Proficiency in basic laboratory skills Pipetting and volumetric measurements, Weighing components, and pH and conductivity measurements
- Ability to follow laboratory and manufacturing SOPs
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team
- Accuracy and reproducibility in performing tasks
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Understanding task prioritization under supervision
