The Paid Biology Internship Opportunity
The Quality Assurance Operations Intern will support Quality Organization projects focused on process simplification, standardization, and efficiency improvements. This role provides hands-on exposure to project management, operational excellence, and continuous improvement initiatives within a regulated pharmaceutical environment.
Projects may include:
- PCT-2 documentation review and approval standardization
- Development of QA scheduling and dashboard tools
- Retain samples visual inspection and destruction process optimization
The intern will apply DMAIC methodology, Operational Excellence tools (e.g., 5S, Value Stream Mapping), and data-driven analysis to identify opportunities for improvement and support implementation of optimized processes.

Essential Areas of Responsibility
- Collect data through direct observation of tasks and workflows
- Develop current-state process maps for identified quality areas
- Coordinate meetings for data review and process evaluation
- Identify improvement opportunities and discuss findings with area managers and Quality Leadership Team (QLT)
- Develop future-state process proposals
- Create implementation plans, including support requirements, procedure updates, and training needs
- Define metrics to monitor process performance
- Execute improvement plans
- Present project outcomes to the Site Leadership Team
Education & Experience for Paid Biology Internship
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program in Biology, or a related field
- Experience or coursework in project management and process excellence
- Must reside within commutable distance to Davie, FL
Skills, Knowledge & Abilities
- Knowledge of Value Stream Mapping (VSM) and Operational Excellence tools
- Strong computer literacy, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio
- High attention to detail with ability to identify process improvement opportunities
- Ability to perform capacity analysis
- Strong collaboration skills across teams and departments
- Self-directed with strong organizational and prioritization abilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
