Research Assistant Position Overview
The Research Assistant I (Research Technician I) will support ongoing research projects by assisting in the maintenance and generation of genetically modified mouse models. This entry-level position is designed for recent graduates in biological sciences. While prior laboratory or animal experience is helpful, it is not required. Comprehensive hands-on training will be provided for specialized procedures.
The ideal candidate is comfortable working with mice, motivated to learn, and dedicated to contributing actively within a laboratory team environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain genetically modified mouse colonies and assist with related procedures
- Support the generation of genetically modified mice (training provided)
- Perform basic molecular biology techniques, including DNA/RNA extraction and PCR
- Maintain accurate laboratory records and communicate regularly with the supervisor
- Follow established protocols and maintain laboratory equipment and supplies
- Participate actively in laboratory meetings, training sessions, and collaborative projects
- Comply with all institutional animal care and biosafety regulations
Minimum Requirements
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Molecular Biology, Life Sciences, or a related field

- Comfortable working with mice and performing laboratory procedures
