Position Summary:
Product & process lead on medium complexity innovation and renovation portfolio and optimization/improvement projects (single recipe, line extension, small recipe renovation, low CAPEX need). Represent Technical Application Group as subject matter expert for product and process to transfer knowledge to the factories. May act as technical lead if required. Collaborate internally and externally to build relationships in order to continuously improve technical skills and personal development.
Key Responsibilities:
I&R Projects including Productivity & Consumer Complaints/Strategy and Execution:
โข Participate in I2L project teams to contribute to product design and process capability decisions
โข Lead factory planning discussions to assess risks, manage the changes, review trial requests, and schedule necessary resources
โข Lead factory discussion on current project status and to assist the plant functions in completion of required functional I2L process activities
โข Provide Operations insight in discussions on changes affecting the plant processes on assigned projects
โข Demonstrate trial and product qualification leadership
โข Technical project manager when PM is not assigned leading smaller cross functional teams of <10 people typically at 1 or 2 physical locations.
Product Development:
โข Incorporate consumer insights into winning product ideas
โข Lead the development of products from concept through commercialization to meet Marketing Brief and Nestle requirements
Ensure product performance at the Factory through trials and qualification process
โข Plans for success, anticipating issues and mitigating impact of issues proactively
Knowledge Transfer:
โข Provide working equipment/product knowledge guidance and support to the Factory/R&D/Engineering resources during the development of new technology and processes
โข Provide guidance to operations during process upset situations and is involved in the resolution process
Building Capability:
โข Represents TAG in general conversations as a subject matter expert on manufacturing finished product
โข Participate and/or lead cross-functional teams to address renovation, consumer complaints and productivity opportunities
โข Lead or participate in GSTD, may participate in DMAIC and other complex problem-solving.
Experience and Education Requirements:
โข Minimum of 5 years Consumer Packaged Goods (food preferred) product development experience
โข Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science, Engineering or related field
โข Demonstrated knowledge of technical and manufacturing processes
โข Demonstrated ability to get results working with cross-functional teams
โข Demonstrated ability to thrive in a cross-functional team environment
โข Strong focus on achieving individual results and meeting deadlines
โข Demonstrated ability to challenge the status quo to generate innovation
โข Participation in Consumer Research (focus, groups, CLTs, or other consumer research)
โข Prior Operations/Factory experience (any area)
